Houjicha means “roasted tea.” Japanese green tea leaves and stems are roasted over high heat to produce a toasty, nutty flavor that tastes great hot or cold brewed. Due to the roasting process and high stalk content, houjicha is low in caffeine and can be enjoyed any time of day or night. It is a favorite among children, as well.
