Sin Kazuho Matcha Whisk (Chasen)
From Chikumeido workshop, one of the highest quality makers of bamboo whisks in the world. The process starts by using 2 to 3 year old lengths of bamboo that are then split into 12cm lengths and then split multiple times to create thinner prongs. The tips are then shaved by hand to a thickness of approximately 0.05mm, so thin that they have a slight translucency. Each piece is handmade and may feature small imperfections or a slight variations in color. From Nara, Japan.
Tips for care and use:
Prior to each use, rinse your whisk in warm water to soften the prongs. After using your whisk, rinse it thoroughly in warm water without soap. If any tea particles remain on the prongs, gently rub them clean with your fingers. Allow your whisk to air dry completely to avoid mold. We recommend using a porcelain stand (chasen tate) to extend the life of your whisk by maintaining its beautiful shape.
