Tenku no Cha – Sencha Above the Clouds
Nestled in the mountains of Ryogochi in the heart of Shizuoka, Tenku no Cha is grown on steep tea fields at an elevation of 350 meters (approximately 1,150 feet).
Here, clouds often blanket the valleys below, creating the breathtaking scenery that inspires its name: Sencha Above the Clouds.
This tea comes from a garden designated in 2015 as a source of tea for presentation to the Imperial Household of Japan.
The tea leaves are carefully cultivated by master tea grower Jiro Katahira and then expertly finished by the tea master of Kanehachi Chaen.
The result is a beautiful lightly steamed Sencha with slender, needle-shaped leaves and an elegant flavor. Its sophisticated taste offers a wonderful expression of Shizuoka's mountain-grown tea.
Tenku no Cha is a taste of the mountains, the craftsmanship, and the quiet beauty of Japan.
Experience the elegance of this tea grown above the clouds.
