Houji Genmai Cha/ Roasted Green Tea with Toasted Rice
 
A comforting blend of roasted green tea and two kinds of toasted rice, crafted with care by a Japanese tea master.
Yame, located in Fukuoka Prefecture, is famous for producing some of Japan’s finest teas. In particular, Yame Traditional Hon-Gyokuro has won the top prize at the National Japanese Tea Competition for many years.
For this blend, only the high-quality stems from first-harvest tea grown in Yame are used to make the hojicha. The stems are lightly roasted, preserving a gentle aroma and natural umami.
Two types of toasted rice are then added:
- Toasted white rice, which brings a warm, nutty fragrance
- Toasted glutinous rice, which adds a subtle sweetness
The result is a soothing tea with an elegant balance of roasted aroma and gentle sweetness.
